The Observer and the Field
Who actually reads the information, how personal position affects the result, and why precision begins with the state of the practitioner rather than the deck.
The first level of the original system
Sonya Kulynyak’s original Tarot education system. The point of entry into a method in which a card ceases to be a fixed meaning and becomes an instrument for reading reality with precision.
A card does not show the answer.
It shows the process.
What the Foundation develops
The Foundation develops a way of thinking rather than a collection of interpretations. It allows you to see the phase of a process, what creates tension, where movement is directed, where a block appears, and where the possibility of change still remains.
Training begins not with memorising cards, but with the position of the Observer — the ability to separate what is seen from personal expectations, fears, and preferred outcomes. You learn to perceive a card as a still frame of a living process: not an isolated image but the state of a system; not a ready-made prediction but the trajectory of an event.
Tarot gradually ceases to be a collection of symbols and becomes a complete language in which suits, numbers, Major, Minor, and Court Arcana each have a precise function.
Programme
Who actually reads the information, how personal position affects the result, and why precision begins with the state of the practitioner rather than the deck.
How to see a life situation as a moving cycle: emergence, formation, development, tension, rupture, completion, and transition into a new form.
The Major Arcana as great states and laws of reality; the Minor Arcana as the daily mechanics of an event; numbers as rhythm and Court Cards as roles and states in action.
How to form a precise focus, read without depending on fixed positions, and see the direction in which an event is already moving rather than a fixed future.
How to distinguish a natural pause from actual stagnation, identify what holds a process in place, and locate the point where choice and change remain possible.
How to communicate difficult information honestly and precisely without causing harm, preserve a person’s responsibility for their decisions, and maintain professional boundaries.
After completion
Instead of scattered knowledge, you will have a structure you can return to across different subjects and questions.
You will be able to see relationships between cards, identify the state and phase of a process, understand its vector, locate points of tension, and assemble what you see into a coherent answer. You will learn not to invent information, not to draw unnecessary cards, and to recognise when a reading is complete.
Who it is for
If you are new to Tarot, the Foundation gives you a clear system of reference without chaotic memorisation or fear of making a mistake.
If you already read cards but your knowledge remains fragmented, it will help you organise it into a complete system and move beyond formulaic interpretations.
Format
There are no examinations, grades, or compulsory assignments. The material is studied progressively and can be revisited during practice.
